I was cleaning out our beach bag when I came across one of the shells that the kids had collected yesterday. It brings back memories from when I was a child and my Gran would take me for regular walks along the beach.

We would get in from school on a hot summers day and she would have all the beach stuff laid out and we would excitedly get changed to head to the beach.

I wasn’t a big swim in the sea fan but I did love to walk along the shore and scour the water’s edge for the tiny sea shells that I could find there and would collect them and they came in so many different shapes and sizes. I would place them in a jar I had and once home I would wash them all and look at their pretty colours and then the jar with all the shells would sit proudly on my shelf.

I don’t know where the jar is now but I remember those memories fondly and hope that I can provide the same for my children.
